Bequest of property

A wakf-nama, a document of bequest of property from Yarkand, dated 1233, on the 9th of the month of Rabi'ul-akhir, in the year of the horse, a Sunday = February 15, 1818. The document is issued by one Molla Osman, and supplied with a seal impression in black. Cf. Prov. 459

Place of origin: Eastern Turkistan (Yarkand)
Date of origin: 1233/1818

Provenance: Acquired by the Swedish missionary Gunnar Hermansson in Yarkand, in the 1920's, who evidently presented it to Gustaf Raquette.

Acquisition: Presented by Hanna Raquette, Gustaf Raquette's wife, to the Lund University Library in the 1960's.
